The main characteristic of the animals is that their fur on the chest and head is longer and thicker than elsewhere. That is why the breed is called a lion's head rabbit.
Despite their small size, the animals do not appear fragile or miniature. The size of an adult lion-headed rabbit appears quite large due to its broad sternum and rather strong front legs.
This breed has a calm and easygoing disposition. Sometimes they can even be trained to follow basic commands. Lionhead rabbits may be shy at first, but this trait quickly disappears as the animals settle into their new home and feel affection and care. They are very playful, like all toy breeds, and need a lot of space.
